How do I wear the Beaded Bra Straps?
This is a simple answer. You can purchase a convertible or strapless bra at any department store. These bras have interchangeable straps. Purple Rock's Beaded Bra Straps are equipped with bra clips at the end so that you can easily hook the straps right through the loops of the bra.
If you would like to attach the Beaded Bra Straps to a favorite bra, and it is not a convertible or strapless, that's OK — it is easy to convert. Simply cut the straps in the front approximately 1½"-2" up from the cups. Fold over the piece of strap that is left to create a loop. Do the exact same thing in the back. Make sure to sew both the loops securely. Some bras are easier to convert if they have a ring attachment to the bra itself. Simply cut the ring off and you will have your loop ready to go.
Will I get the support I need wearing the Beaded Bra Straps?
Remember the Beaded Bra Straps are considered "shoulder jewelry." Most convertible or strapless bras are made with support because they are not depending on straps … so your main support will come from the bra that you wear. However, Purple Rock's Beaded Bra Straps are made of a high-grade stretchable monofilament that does add the extra support that is nice to have. Whether you are small or large busted, the Beaded Bra Straps will work for you. Each strap has its own level of style and support for your comfort.
What if I don't wear a bra?
No problem. Just add 3/8" elastic loops, front and back, to the inside of your favorite strapless or spaghetti strapped dress or top, and you're ready to attach your Beaded Bra Straps.
Will the Beaded Bra Straps fit me?
Purple Rock's Standard Beaded Bra Straps are "One Size Fits Most".
The length of our standard strap is approximately 14" long from clip to clip, and stretches up to 17". The bra clip attachment is 3/8" wide. To see if the straps will work for you, simply measure the length of your shoulder from front to back, using the loops of your bra in the front and back, as your point of measurement. And remember, the Beaded Bra Straps are stretchable, so there is some give and take.
If you feel the standard beaded bra strap is either too long or too short for your body type, Purple Rock offers select designs from each style in a Petite Length (P) and a Longer Length (LL) Strap. Simply measure your shoulder length as you would for a Standard Beaded Bra Strap and determine which would work best for you. Remember to keep in mind the give and take of a few inches with the stretch ability of the straps. The length of our Petite Strap is approximately 12" long from clip to clip, and the Longer Length Straps are approximately 16" long from clip to clip.
What outfits do I wear with the Beaded Bra Straps?
The sky is the limit …. Be creative! Add interest! Modify that same outfit from casual to glamorous … or vice versa! And best of all, now you can buy those adorable outfits that you would have avoided because you didn't want to wear a strapless bra!
- Strapless dress or top — no need for an uncomfortable strapless bra when you can have the support you need!
- No bra? Add small loops to the garment made from 3/8" elastic and you are set to go without worry of slippage!
- Spaghetti strapped sundresses, camisoles, etc. — wear extra beaded straps alongside the narrow straps … great for both style and comfort!
- Off-the-shoulder garments — let that fabric slide and get a glimpse (or more) of your beautiful straps!
- Single-shoulder dresses — add the right strap to the other shoulder and your jewelry is unique!
- Swimsuits — swap out the straps and replace them with beaded bra straps … they are safe to wear in the water.
- Sweaters — boat neck or cowl neck sweaters let you show your straps for extra glamour when it is cold.
- Halter top dress or top — wear the straps across your shoulders for a different look that adds interest and beauty.
- Pre-teen — attach two loops to the front of that tube top or dress and wear a single strap as a halter. (Mother and daughter can share the same straps.) As they grow, they can next wear the straps crisscrossed across the back with their first bras. They will love it and grow up knowing the difference between beautiful and tacky!
